16 Weeks of Weekender Milestone 8: The Back

Not sure what this is? Check out the 16 Weeks of Weekender master post here! FINALLY we're out of the round! But it's not too crazy, just knitting back and forth, some gentle short-row shaping, and ribbing for the shoulders.  The only thing here that might be tricky is the short rows. Andrea Mowry includes a tutorial in the pattern - this one from Purl Soho. This tutorial is one of the best. My advice is to read the whole thing first to get your bearings (find the headings -that's the helpful part). If you follow these instructions, you shouldn't end up with any holes in your short rows! Let us know how the short rows go for you in the...

16 Weeks of Weekender Milestone 7: Separating for Sleeves

Not sure what this is? Check out the 16 Weeks of Weekender master post here! Back to the grind this week! It seems that a lot of you took the "catch-up week" as a "get-ahead" week! That's great, but don't forget to come back and post on the weekly milestones as they go up to ensure that you get your points.  This week, we're finishing off the body and getting ready to knit the front and back separately. So... more stockinette in the round! What we want to know this week is: whatcha watchin'? What do you have on the tv/computer screen/phone as you knit your Weekender? Personally, I've been re-watching all of BuzzFeed Unsolved in preparation for the new...

16 Weeks of Weekender: Week 6

Not sure what this is? Check out the 16 Weeks of Weekender master post here! This week is a catch-up week which means that you have a little extra time to work on the body before next week. Since there's no milestone this week, we're highlighting some participants who have shared part of their knitting process on Instagram. Excellent Vibes I like these pictures because they exude the fun and coziness that I love about knitting. @ewesyouryarn got creative when measuring the first 4", @oneofakate showed off knitting and crochet in one image, and @kj_sauer gave me some serious snack envy! Speedsters!  This is a 16-week-long KAL, but that proved to be too slow for these knitters! @carolyndaydesigns finished her...

16 Weeks of Weekender Milestone 5: Second 4" of the Body

Not sure what this is? Check out the 16 Weeks of Weekender master post here! This week... more stockinette! Personally, I love it! Do you like simple stockinette in the round? This week's prompt is to tell us about your stitch markers. You should have a stitch marker to remind you to slip the middle stitch on the front and back. What does yours look like? Does it have any special significance?  If you're participating in the knitalong, post a picture of your first 4" to Instagram, then come back here and leave a quick comment about it. Remember to use the hashtags #colorfuleclectic and #16weeksofweekender in your Instagram posts! A mod will check your post and add your points. Extra points and prizes are...

16 Weeks of Weekender Milestone 4: First 4" of the Body

Not sure what this is? Check out the 16 Weeks of Weekender master post here! Hi friends, Kendra here! Thanks for your patience during my absence. I'm feeling much better now and I have been diligently updating points on the roster. If you have any questions or concerns, message me on Instagram (@misskender) and we'll work it out. Now we're really getting into the swing of things. The majority of this sweater is soothing stockinette in the round and thus I don't have any tips or tricks to share with you! This week's prompt is to tell us what's in your cup. What are you drinking while you knit? Do you have a favorite beverage to share with us? Let...
