Things are really coming together this week! At this point, I feel like it's really becoming a sweater, ya know?
This week's technique is the tubular bind-off. We're only binding off the neck hole; the shoulder stitches will remain on holders. The long-tail tubular bind off can be hard to conceptualize but once you do, it makes tons of sense. What we're doing is creating 2 parallel lines of stitches, then Kitchener stitching them together. Here's a link to a great tutorial, again from Purl Soho. Cuff-down sock knitters will be familiar with Kitchener stitch, but in case you need a tutorial, there's one linked in the Purl Soho page above. Just remember: knit purl, purl knit!
I love tubular bind-offs because they perfectly mirror the cast-on edge. It's little touches like this that make the Weekender such a great pattern. Let's see those beautiful bind-offs!If you're participating in the knitalong, post a picture of your first 4" to Instagram, then come back here and leave a quick comment about it.
